The Black Beret/Die Swart Beret

The Commandant at the time was Comdt. Jack Dutton. The Comdt. wrote the foreword to that first edition and was very supportive of the project, allowing the serviceman full use of the base facilities to prepare and print the magazine.

In 2017, Mr. Chandler donated an original copy of that first-ever edition to the Armour Museum.

Mr. Chandler is almost 79 years old now and often thinks of those days of so long ago. The great times and experiences they had, the friendships made, and how their training made them into better people before returning to civilian life.

It is with great pleasure that the SA Armour Museum presents a digital copy of the 1964 "The Black Beret/Die Swart Beret".
